Good design is for everyone.

Home renovation has long been built for the few. Just 3% of homeowners drive more than half of the $233 billion spent on home improvements each year.1 Lower-income homeowners spend more than three times as much of their income on their homes as the highest earners (18.3% vs. 5.8%).2 Yet most of what they spend goes to urgent repairs, leaving only 17% for projects like kitchen and bath remodels.2 Thoughtful design has been treated as a luxury, and the people who could benefit most from it have been left without.
MILLS exists to change that. While we’re proud of our focus on beautiful design, we take special care to create options for smaller budgets, so that beautiful design is truly inclusive.

Aging in place, with dignity

Only 10% of U.S. homes are ready for aging in place, and about a quarter of older households have trouble using some feature of their home.3 The bathroom is often where independence is first at risk. We’re committed to supporting dignified aging in place, starting with Silversafe, our first renovation plan designed for safety and independence at home.

Supporting home modifications

We welcome projects from contractors doing Medicaid-supported home modifications for homebound individuals.

Designing for every need

Families with accessibility or special-use needs can request product substitutions at no additional cost.
